Directions from Waterloo Station to Stansted Airport

  1. Take the Bakerloo Line to Piccadilly Circus.
  2. Take the Piccadilly Line to King’s Cross St Pancras Station.
  3. Follow the signs to the exit and cross Euston Road.
  4. Turn left and enter St. Pancras International Station on the right.
  5. Walk straight ahead and take a left at Dune to the Midland Road exit.
  6. Exit the station and turn right on Midland Road.
  7. Find the Stansted Citylink Bus for Stansted Airport at Bus Stop S.
  8. Board the bus and arrive at Stansted Airport an hour and 15 minutes later.


Waterloo Station to Stansted Airport

It’s quick and easy to travel from central London to the airport using the underground trains and bus from Waterloo to Stansted Airport in less than two hours.

Waterloo Underground Station to Stansted Airport Bus

Upon entering Waterloo Station, you will see signs for the underground station. Follow these signs to the underground platforms.


Take the Bakerloo line (brown) towards Harrow & Wealdstone and disembark at the third stop, Piccadilly Circus. Follow the signs for the Piccadilly line (dark blue) towards Cockfosters. Get on the underground train and travel to the fifth stop, King’s Cross St Pancras. This portion of the journey takes approximately 15 minutes.


The station is only a short walk from Stansted Citylink’s King’s Cross pick up point.


Stansted Citylink Airport Bus

Disembark at King's Cross and follow the signs to exit at street level. Cross over Euston Road and turn left. Walk a few meters and the entrance to St. Pancras International will be on your right. Enter the station and walk straight. Turn left when you reach a shop called Dune and take the exit onto Midland Road. Turn right and after a short distance, you will find Bus Stop S, where Stansted Citylink buses depart on their non-stop route to Stansted airport.



How much does it cost to travel from Waterloo to Stansted Airport?

Both Waterloo and King’s Cross St Pancras underground stations are located in Zone 1. Travelling within Zone 1 costs £4.90 for a single trip or £2.40 on an Oyster card.


Discounted fares are also available for Stansted Citylink airport bus, but only online. Journeys cost as little as £5 single when you book online and you can save 30% if you purchase at least two weeks before your departure date.

Transport Available for Stansted to London

Stansted Citylink operates 90 services between Stansted airport and London city centre. During the daytime, buses depart every half an hour, making sure you arrive on time from Stansted to King’s Cross set-down point or vice-versa.
